For me, the reasons are pretty simple. I’m a poor college student, I love visual effects, and I’ve heard/read some great things about the VFX for Directors set!

I teach production and post-production techniques to hundreds of people at a Vermont cable access center, and this tape would be such a great asset. We have HD cameras, lights, green and blue screens, dollies, FCP, Lightwave, Shake, and many other great tools, but to have a great set of tutorials on how to integrate all of these tools for quality visual effects would be fantastic.

I´m interessting in this giveaways;) http://twitter.com/OneDirectorsCut
I´m a VFX Supervisor form Germany and I´ve 2 VFX Forums. One example work can you see here: http://tinyurl.com/pspspot . I´ll want it because I want to improove my matchmoving skills and my composings. Because I do not much with 3D integration in my project. If I win one I´ll watch it and then make a contest in my two forums where are already ca. 6000 members and the prize is then VFX for Directors!

    Hey, thanks for the opportunity.

I’m a college student in multimedia, hugely interested in visual effects, especially compositing, and learning how to better integrate visual effects by planning for them. I’m hungry to know as much as possible. Anything I can do to expand my knowledge is cool with me.

  11. Hey !

i´m learnin some VFX and Postproduction Stuff for 2 years now. But only doin some smaller projects.

Now i´m planning to realise a short movie (about 10-15 minutes) where i have to pre produce a lot of the shots in case of VFX.

As it´s the first time i really want to do the VFX supervisor job, i´m a real noob, so this DVD set would be great to get into vfx supervising and get a real overview over all the methods of post production.

would be great if this bundle could help me to get my first VFX heavy shortmovie going.

Good luck to all others aswell ;)

    cheers,

    alex

Having dabbled in VFX shooting some years ago, I was forced to take a leave, and work from home. I am hoping this DVD course will bring me up to speed with the new techniques and methods to get my visual effects supervising career back on track. It looks absolutely stellar from the preview, and I am very eager to watch and learn from the masters.
To win this DVD set would be an absolute dream, thankyou for giving us all the opportunity!

This looks like a quality, informative DVD set that anyone in VFX could sink their teeth into – not literally of course. ;)

  16. mystikhill says:

I have seen the promo footage for Visual Effects for Directors DVD Set and am hooked. I could really use this set to get to the next level with my film production VFX work. After getting a new PC, camera and lighting package I am not left with much for software.

This DVD package would really help get me to the next level.

Thank You for the chance at a great contest!! Keep up the great posts!!

  17. Hi

I’m from Thailand. I works in part of CGI in Thai’s feature films. My position is CG Visual Effect on set, so It’s hard to find the knowledge about VFX on set, cause you know?

We don’t have the school that they teach about that. we have to try out by myself….

The Budget it’s a big problem..it’s not only the budget for VFX part …..it’s a hold thing in production, pre pro, post pro bla bla bla,

so that mean the budget for control VFX part is so poor. WE HAVE TO ADAPT everything in everyway.
….we don’t have motion control for shoot again and again(for BG plate) so, we try to shoot another way and then it’s not a good stuff for post-production team…

anyway this dvd set it will make the Thai VFX guys to understand and can do the good thing for thai movies.
and the Thai Producer, Director ,DP everyone will understand the works that i’m working..cause they don’t know about this. They don’t understand why I have a plan to shoot like this(VFX shot) sometime they don’t prepare the budget for VFX part cause they DON”T KNOW!!! but they need the CG shot !!!!! in his film.

plz visit my hi5….it’s show a pictures (just a few pic)behind the scene that I made..

my reel ” Queens of Langkasuka” (winner the best vfx award in THAI 2008)
    ” Ong-Bak 2″ (2008)
    “JIJA 2″ (on post production)

Thank you so much for reading untill here and sorry about my language

  19. Hi,

I’m a computer animator working very much with film and actually being really interested in Directing. I’ve been successful directing and supervising sets for special effects, but with basically no training, just intuition and logic, so I think that with a great training like this, I’d be able to improve my company’s capabilities and bring down some limitations.

    Thank you.
