  4. @VicDiGital here.

I’m dying to get these videos. Just watching the sample videos online has raised my VFX knowledge exponentially. I can’t imagine what it will be like seeing the whole set.

These videos are exactly what I wish there was more of. Videos for professionals that assume they have a solid grounding in the basics. Let’s just get into the meat of this.

I don’t even have the DVD’s and I’ve been evangelizing about them. I know there’s been at least one sale made from my enthusiasm over this product.

Looking forward to these videos and anything they produce in the future.

  5. Ben Hoskyn says:

Shooting my first feature next year, a very ambitious script on a small budget, in multiple countries. This DVD course looks amazing from the sample videos, and Dave you’ve been raving about it for a while now – winning it for free would definitely be a big boost =)

  6. @murphtastical

When I first saw Visual Effects for Directors I immediately added it to my “must have” list. The sample videos replicate the quality of visuals I would love achieve.

While the release sale was going on I filled out my credit card information twice, but each time realizing that I am a broke college student that has no way to afford such a great learning tool.

Help me Filmmaking Central you’re my only hope!!

  7. greg day says:

Been an editor for a long time. To form the perfect triangle as a director and vfx artist is my goal. This set can help make it happen!
    Thanks, and great stuff!

  8. I’m an aspiring filmmaker and a VFX boutique director that lives in a country where it’s really hard to get a proper education in VFX, so winning a DVD like this would add so much to our growth and development.

I own the original HCW and it’s awesome. I don’t/ didn’t have the extra cash on hand to buy the new set during the pre-sale (or now… work’s been slow). I would love to add the set to my library asap, as I’m an editor transitioning into directing and I’m working on a shoot coming up later this summer (shh.. you heard it here first!).

  15. @kworkman

I just started a local new media studio here in San Diego (www.x-sanguinstudios.com) and am following a long time dream of doing media production.

It was my goal to do this when I got out of school, but at the time the odds of making it in the industry and still putting food on the table were pretty slim, so I choose another road. However after 20 years I am getting back into the swing of things, and with the wide spread adoption of on-line video I now see the light at the end of the tunnel. :)

So they look fantastic and I would hands down love to have a copy. :)

Man, I’ve been drooling over this one for a while. I’m an independent filmmaker, and I love special FX, but I’m on a student’s budget right now… sadness…

I would love to watch this fantastic series, it looks pretty nuts to say the least. The samples prove to me that this product is worth every penny, and I thank you for holding this giveaway. Whoever ends up getting it WILL enjoy it, and put it to good use :)
If only I could afford this with my own money I would gladly dish out for the tremendous work they have done. Sadly that’s not the case.
    Again, whoever wins, enjoy it.

I know I would enjoy it whether I won it, or saved up for it somehow.

This would be pretty cool. Read about it a while back, always looking to expand my knowledge, trying to learn from every source possible — this seems a great opportunity. Aaaand, the whole student thing limits the budget some.

  20. glen montgomery says:

@glenmontgomery would love to glean some new VFX knowledge from these products. So glad to see them available to the masses who don’t get to be on set everyday learning from the masters.

  21. MorganP says:

I am a junior french 2D/3D Compositor about to step into the realm of VFX Supervision this summer : I will shoot a spec commercials involving advanced cg/vfx stuff so I thought these heavy-content-packed dvd could help me on so many levels, and undoubtly save me hours of fixing in Post (and a few headaches) !
I ran through the sample videos and loved the methodology : even though I would love to perform brute-force-testing on tracking marker &co myself, I just can’t afford the time to do so :/
That’s why I though this might be an unvaluable addition to the upcoming hours of preproduction i’m about to dive into !

  30. @quintessential here.

I blog and twitter about film and video events and products.

I am an up-and-coming editor who is trying to expand my knowledge by studying all I can get my hands on.

When I find something that is beneficial, I share that through the internet and through the educational group that I co-founded to learn and teach every aspect of digital filmmaking, The 20 Projects Project.

Our next projects happen to be in visual effects and we are looking for something to help us learn about them.

I feel this would be a great addition to our ever-increasing library that will help educate not only ourselves but also future filmmakers.

We meet weekly (sometimes more often) and we are more than anxious to dive right into these DVDs.

You would be helping a great cause!

    Thank you for considering us.
