Everyday, through my production company email, I get about 50 or so queries from prospective writers. Everyday I try to email them back letting them know their epic movie about Leif Ericson, the Viking, that is 250 pages long isnt something I would be interested in.
Maybe it is well written. Most likely not. What would tickle me pink is if writers did some homework checking to see if I actually made $200 million epic films. Its not hard to do either. Just pick up a copy of the Hollywood Creative Directory.
Inside the HCD are pages filled with production company's information. Included is their recent films and whats in development. This is all info you can use to see if a company is worth pitching or not.
IMDB Pro is another place you can use for information. For a monthly fee you can view alot of info on production companies and distributors.
Do your homework for better success!
Here are a few posts on the web I thought I would share.
