Mocha 2 faster and sexier than ever!

Imagineer systems, I must say, really listens to their users. All my whining is about to vanish. Yes Mocha has always gotten the job done but never as sleek as it can now.

With NAB a few days away, the world will see this industry unique planer tracker is looking good and moving fast. After all this is THE tracker and rotoscoping application to go to in a jam.

What Host ID? Where?

If you were an early adopter to Mocha or any Imagineer product you would remember the difficulty of activating your license. Ok maybe for some it wasn't too hard but for me it was a pain. It would ask for a host id and I would scramble asking my friends and users where the heck I would find that.

Mocha, I am happy to say, does the work for you now. Click on activate and you will see your Host ID in place. Excellent! This will make it easy to move from one computer to another like my Adobe license.

Sexy NewUI!

Out is the old UI, which I didn't care for very much, and in is a streamlined sleek UI that will take you no time to master. After spending about 30 minutes going through the new version, it really seemed like my workflow was faster because of the simplified UI.

Zoom zoom goes 64 bit!

With Snow Leopard and Windows 7 both running 64 bit it made sense for Mocha to be also. Also, Adobe had announced their new version of products would be 64 bit only. Its the future and Imagineer Systems is there.

Export to Nuke and Motion

Mocha has always had great options to export data to your program of choice. After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid, etc. They now added Nuke (a fantastic compositor by the way!) and Apple’s Motion. This really will help uses of those programs tremendously. I for one will embrace this when I am asked to work in Motion on some projects!

Final Thoughts

I have always been a fan of Imagineer Systems products. Why? They make me money and save me time. Mocha 2 is worth its weight in bits. Existing users can pick it up for $399 as part of a NAB Show special. The program is streamlined, faster, easy to learn, and powerful. I give Mocha 2 a whopping 5/5 stars.
