    Surviving the Filmmaker’s ‘Vida Loca.’

Tweet The Indie Filmmaker’s ‘Vida Loca’ is often a careening ride splattered with disillusionment-before you crash it’s essential to achieve balance in this chaotic mix and turn the creative forces that drive you into a positive sustainable process. A few days ago I ran into one of my favorite Indie Filmmakers. Her pallor was grey, her eyes expressionless and her voice was a monotone din of exhaustion. In contrast her work is better than it’s ever been. Sharpened and elegant […]

  • Dave’s TGIF Weekly #4

Tweet Wow! Has the world gone mad. The financial system is cracking not just in the USA but all over the world. At least the movie industry will thrive. If one business is recession proof its the movies. We love seeing them in good and bad times. They are our escape. That being said, I spoke to a friend today who funds features. • Dave’s TGIF Weekly #1

Tweet Greetings gang! Welcome to my first edition of Dave’s TGIF Weekly. The weather is gorgeous here in LA and its time for a weekend. With all the turmoil in the financial markets some movie investors have gotten a bit skiddish. This means you really need to have a strong package with an escape plan (distribution etc) for the investors to feel warmly about your project. Sale estimates are always a welcome addition. Never fear, however. Even through the “Great […]

  • Fiesta Grand and more!

Tweet Greetings! So while the wife decided to hold her semi annual yard sale (ugg!) I was able to hang out with my son and try getting some work done. As he watched his favorite film “Ratatouille” I scoured the net to see if anything I was involved with had any new updates. To my amazement I found my feature film Fiesta Grand had gotten linked and possibly sold to MTV and VH1! I immediately put in a call and […]
