Storek Studio, the creators of nVeil (www.nveil.com), the visually stunning new VFX plug in for Final Cut Pro users, announced today a new summer promotion and contest for new customers; the "nVeil UnVeiling" contest. To participate, customers who purchase a copy of nVeil by July 25, 2009 will receive a second free copy upon submitting a personally drawn vector graphic ‘veil' and a video clip of its use. User submissions received by October 25, 2009 will then be judged for graphic and video creativity.
"We are so pleased by the early response to nVeil from the Final Cut Pro community that we wanted to go a little further and really tap into the creative spirit of these digital artists," said Rich Storek, creator of nVeil. "We designed this contest to do two things; one is to encourage as many artist/editors as possible to explore the creative potential of nVeil, and secondly, to share their results with the nVeil user community. We want our users to discover that the power of nVeil isn't just what we've built into the product, it's the ability to take creations even further by designing your own veils that capture your personal, signature style. This unique combination is what makes nVeil an invaluable tool in your VFX workflow."
Contest Details; How to Participate
To participate in the "nVeil UnVeiling" contest, new nVeil customers simply are required to:
Purchase one nVeil license before July 25, 2009;
Following the guidelines on www.nveil.com, create a unique, personal new SVG veil and video clip and submit them by October 25, 2009 for judging by Storek Studio artists; Upon submission, customers will receive a second nVeil license free, and their veil will be entered into the contest for a chance to win the $500 prize for nVeil creativity.
The winner of the SVG veil contest, and all worthy entries will also be highlighted and credited on the nVeil web site and publicized to the industry media and blogger community. Winners will be announced on November 1, 2009.
nVeil, How It Works
Leveraging a sophisticated new SVG file filtering engine, nVeil enables the creation of an entirely new digital art form in which video clips - with full motion and color - are filtered through SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) ‘veils' to create visually immersive and stunning imagery.
Working within Apple's Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express or Motion, digital artists first apply nVeil
as a video effect to any clip. Then, users simply choose a veil and adjust settings from eight parameters, transforming the video into a unique work of art. The nVeil effect veils the source imagery as a ‘curtain' in front of the clip. The result is similar to a constantly changing stained glass design seen through a kaleidoscope. Demos of nVeil and a tutorials for its use are viewable at nveil.com
Pricing and Availability
nVeil is available immediately at an introductory price of $99, which includes its newly expanded library of 60 veils.

Posted by: | Comments
Ok how cool is it that FMC sponsor Imagineer Systems is letting us giveaway a copy of their new Mocha AE 2? I would say extremely cool! If you have never used Mocha in any form it is a tremendous, time saving tool for2D tracking and Roto work. Please if you are from Jupiter and never heard of it TRY it right now! Time is money and very precious! This tool is fast and hard working, getting the job done the first time. Mocha AE2 allows you to export tracking data into After Effects for a smooth transition.
Here is some info from Imagineer Systems site:
mocha for After Effects v2 has two key toolsets that After Effects users are always asking for: A solid 2D tracker and rotoscoping tools with variable, per-point edge feathering.
The tracker in mocha for After Effects is based on Imagineer's unique 2.5D Planar Tracking technology, which is significantly more robust than
traditional point trackers, such as the one found in After Effects. mocha for After Effects will enable you to get a track, even in situations where you have objects moving out of frame, lack of detail, motion blur and heavy grain. mocha for After Effects innovative AdjustTrack tool helps remove drift and enables you to extract offset tracking data for areas that go off screen.
Everyone knows that with a good track, rotoscoping becomes easier. mocha for After Effects v2 introduces the new mocha shape data export feature, enabling you to create detailed masks in mocha for After Effects and then simply copy and paste these into After Effects*
How do I win this awesome app Dave?
All you need to do is follow both Imagineer Systems (@allanjaenicke) and FMC (@themediamogul) on Twitter.com. ReTweet the link to this post. AND leave a comment below on why you NEED this!
We will pick a winner LIVE via our Kyte channel (and tweet it too) at NAB2009! Entries must be no later than April 17th.
Best of luck!
